Communications Associate

About the role

The Communications Associate will support the External Relations and Communications Officer in Jordan, helping to raise WFP’s visibility, promote donor recognition and assist fundraising efforts. The role works closely with communications, partnerships and reporting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement country‑specific communication work plans and deliver campaigns for target audiences.
• Coordinate video, film, photography and radio projects, managing storage and distribution of audio‑visual materials.
• Prepare content for traditional and social media, printed materials and donor acknowledgements, ensuring consistency with corporate messaging.
• Serve as information focal point, support media coverage of events and organise special events with partners and media.
• Monitor media, report insights to senior staff and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in communications.
• Fluency in oral and written Arabic and English.
• Understanding of WFP communication techniques and the socio‑political context of its operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with graphic‑design and content‑creation tools such as Canva and Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience in media monitoring, audio‑visual material management and event coordination.
