Core Lab Supervisor

About the role

The Core Lab Supervisor leads laboratory operations across all sections, ensuring accurate testing, timely reporting, and compliance with accreditation standards. The role involves minimal supervision, overseeing routine and complex procedures, and providing technical support to the laboratory team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of laboratory staff, including scheduling and after‑hours coverage.
• Develop, write, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory tests.
• Design and implement quality control and quality assurance programs in line with departmental guidelines.
• Interpret and apply accreditation standards such as CAP and JCI.
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships.
• Operate, calibrate, and perform performance checks on automated analyzers and other clinical equipment.
• Validate laboratory reports, review abnormal results, and communicate critical findings to physicians.
• Assist in budget preparation and monitor laboratory expenditures.
• Provide training and technical guidance to medical technologists and clinical staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with proven supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of accreditation requirements (CAP, JCI) and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
