Core Network Design Manager – Damascus Based

About the role

The Core Network Design Manager will lead architecture and detailed design activities for the core telecom network, covering IP/MPLS, DWDM transport, International Gateway (IGW), and landing station domains. Based in Damascus, the role ensures scalable, resilient designs that meet industry standards and support modernization initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture and detailed design for IP/MPLS Core, DWDM, IGW, and landing stations.
• Develop and review high‑level and low‑level designs, topology diagrams, and integration plans.
• Define network standards, resiliency models, redundancy mechanisms, and routing frameworks.
• Conduct topology studies, traffic analysis, routing optimization, and backbone scalability assessments.
• Review and approve design changes, migration approaches, and integration models.
• Participate in RFI/RFP technical evaluations and vendor solution validation.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams during design and implementation phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in telecom core network design, architecture, or transport engineering.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• IP/MPLS design, BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, Segment Routing, MPLS‑TE, EVPN, QoS, multicast, VPN services.
• DWDM/OTN architecture, ROADM, optical protection, long‑haul transport planning.
• IGW architecture, submarine cable integration, international connectivity design.
• Network resiliency, traffic engineering, backbone optimization.
• Multi‑vendor environment experience and design governance processes.
