Country Director – Jordan

About the role

CARE is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Country Director for Jordan. The role will guide the country office through a transition from humanitarian response to integrated recovery and sustainable development, while representing CARE legally in Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic, values‑driven leadership to advance CARE’s mission in Jordan.
• Oversee program quality, operational excellence, and financial management.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government, donors, civil society, communities, and the private sector.
• Lead a diverse, high‑performing team and manage complex, evolving contexts.
• Champion innovation, including digital transformation and new programming models.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong understanding of the transition from emergency response to long‑term development.
• Ability to represent the organization as its legal representative in Jordan.
• Commitment to CARE’s values of equality and excellence.
