Data Lead

About the role

Syarah is building the future of automotive e‑commerce in the region and needs a Data Lead to own and evolve its data ecosystem. This hands‑on leadership position will design scalable data systems on GCP, guide a cross‑functional team, and turn complex data into actionable insights that drive growth across e‑commerce and payments platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a cross‑functional data team (engineering, analytics, data science).
• Architect and manage Syarah’s end‑to‑end data platform on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Dataform).
• Design scalable ETL pipelines, unified star‑schema models, and integrate ERPNext and other operational systems.
• Build and deploy containerised services with Docker on Cloud Run and develop secure Flask REST APIs.
• Own data DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure management and monitoring.
• Orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow.
• Integrate Adjust and Mixpanel into a unified data lake, ensuring reliable event tracking and funnel analytics.
• Deliver proactive executive‑level insights, define KPI frameworks and create trusted data products for finance, operations and product teams.
• Develop internal AI tools using LLMs and prompt engineering to improve productivity.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics or data platform roles.
• Proven experience in a data leadership or senior technical position.
• Strong track record of building and scaling data pipelines and ETL architectures.
• Experience working with ERP systems (ERPNext or similar) is a plus.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform stack: BigQuery, Cloud Run, Dataform.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Docker containerisation.
• Flask (or similar) for REST API development.
• Apache Airflow or comparable workflow orchestration tools.
• Product analytics and mobile attribution tools: Mixpanel, Adjust.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and infrastructure as code.
• Data modelling, KPI framework design and business intelligence concepts.
