Director of Finance (Amman, Jordan)

About the role

The Director of Finance will join the executive leadership team in Amman, Jordan, shaping the organization’s financial strategy and ensuring robust stewardship. This senior role oversees finance, budgeting, FP&A, grants, and compliance while driving modernization and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead long‑term financial planning, forecasting, and investment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Serve as primary financial advisor to the Executive Director, Board, and Audit Committees.
• Oversee budgeting, multi‑year financial outlooks, and cost modeling to support data‑driven decisions.
• Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Manage donor‑funded programs, proposal budgets, financial reporting, and indirect cost rates.
• Direct cash management, treasury operations, banking relationships, and capital planning.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering accountability and transparency.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in finance leadership, preferably in non‑profit or donor‑driven environments.
• Proven track record of strategic financial planning, budgeting, and governance.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, grant management, and risk frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills to advise senior executives and boards.
