About the role
The Sustainable Research and Development (SRD) Center seeks a Disability Inclusion & Community‑Based Inclusive Development (CBID) Specialist to lead technical work on disability inclusion, accessibility, and rights‑based approaches in Jordan. The role will guide the design and implementation of a baseline study, ensuring that the perspectives of persons with disabilities and their representative organizations shape all activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance on disability inclusion, CBID, accessibility, and participation of persons with disabilities.
- Design inclusive data‑collection tools, including OPD capacity assessments and community self‑assessment instruments.
- Support participatory community mapping and identify barriers faced by persons with disabilities.
- Facilitate consultations with OPDs, community members, service providers, and local stakeholders.
- Ensure fieldwork is inclusive, safe, respectful, and accessible.
- Analyze findings on disability inclusion, service access, social participation, and community support systems.
- Contribute to baseline, OPD capacity, and community mapping reports, and formulate practical recommendations.
Required profile
- University degree in social sciences, disability studies, development studies, public health, rehabilitation, education, or a related field.
- 5‑9 years of experience in disability inclusion, CBID, community‑based rehabilitation, or rights‑based programming.
- Strong knowledge of the disability context in Jordan and experience working with OPDs, CBOs, or service providers.
- Proven experience in participatory assessments, community consultations, or qualitative research.
- Fluency in Arabic and strong written English communication skills.
