Dynatrace Engineer

About the role

The Dynatrace Engineer will own and optimise First Tech’s Dynatrace monitoring platform, converting application, infrastructure and user‑experience data into actionable insights that support the business. The role works closely with Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure comprehensive observability across our digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise Dynatrace across applications and infrastructure, including OneAgent, ActiveGate and DQL.
• Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, synthetic tests and Real User Monitoring (RUM) to surface performance issues.
• Analyse logs, metrics and traces to identify root causes and drive remediation.
• Monitor releases and proactively flag performance, reliability and capacity risks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve observability and manage platform efficiency and Dynatrace consumption.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools to accelerate analysis, automation and reporting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in monitoring, observability or application performance engineering.
• 3+ years of hands‑on production experience with Dynatrace.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with Kubernetes.NET applications, databases and cloud environments.

Required skills

• Dynatrace (OneAgent, ActiveGate, DQL, dashboards, synthetics, RUM, Davis AI).
• Monitoring tools such as Datadog, ELK/Elasticsearch, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Linux/Bash and PowerShell scripting.
• AI‑assisted tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Codex, Gemini).
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and cloud platforms.
