Early Childhood Development Technical Lead

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Early Childhood Development Technical Lead to drive high‑quality, scalable interventions for the youngest children and their caregivers across the MENA region. This senior technical position will shape program design, digital solutions, and capacity‑building initiatives that support children affected by crisis and conflict.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of Early Childhood Development (ECD) interventions, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and government partners.
• Oversee the development and adaptation of digital learning tools and curriculum resources for children and caregivers.
• Coordinate with ministries of Education, Health, and Social Development to embed ECD programs within national service delivery.
• Manage partnerships with public and private stakeholders, including NGOs, donors, and academic institutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the ECD workforce, including teachers, facilitators, and health workers.
• Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, producing evidence‑based recommendations for scaling and sustainability.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale ECD programs in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of early childhood pedagogy, child protection, and health‑education integration.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government ministries and multi‑sector partners.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
