Education Specialist – Teacher Development and Workforce (Temporary, Remote)

About the role

The Education Specialist (Teacher Development and Workforce) will support the Senior Education Advisor in managing UNICEF's Teacher Development and Workforce portfolio within the Education Center of Excellence. This is a 364‑day temporary position based in Amman, Jordan, with remote work flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and operational support for the design, preparation, and implementation of teacher development and workforce plans.
• Assist the Senior Education Advisor in managing the portfolio, including monitoring progress and delivering results.
• Contribute to the development of innovative approaches that strengthen national education systems and improve teaching and learning outcomes.
• Support the delivery of technical assistance to countries, especially in fragile and crisis settings.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in education, teacher development, or workforce development.
• Experience working with education programmes in diverse or challenging contexts.
• Ability to provide analytical and advisory support to senior staff.
