Education Specialist – Teacher Development & Workforce (Remote)

About the role

The Education Specialist (Teacher Development and Workforce) will support the Senior Advisor Education in managing UNICEF’s Teacher Development and Workforce portfolio within the Education Center of Excellence. Based in Amman but working remotely, the role contributes to strengthening national education systems and improving learning outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Advisor in planning, preparing and implementing teacher development and workforce programmes.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support throughout all stages of programme delivery.
• Coordinate with country teams and partners to ensure alignment with UNICEF’s Education Strategy and equity goals.
• Monitor and track programme results, preparing reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Contribute to the development of innovative approaches for teacher and workforce system transformation, especially in fragile and crisis settings.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Education, International Development or related field.
• Proven experience in teacher development, workforce planning or education system reform.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s education frameworks and equity strategies.
• Ability to work remotely while coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams.
