Education Specialist – Teacher Development & Workforce (Temporary, Remote)

About the role

The Education Specialist (Teacher Development and Workforce) will support the Senior Advisor Education in managing the Teacher Development and Workforce portfolio within UNICEF’s Education Center of Excellence. This temporary, remote position contributes to strengthening national education systems, especially in fragile and crisis-affected settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Advisor in planning, preparing, and implementing teacher development and workforce programmes.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support throughout all stages of programme delivery.
• Support the development of evidence‑based strategies to improve teaching quality and learning outcomes.
• Coordinate with country offices and partners to ensure alignment with UNICEF’s Education Strategy and global standards.
• Monitor and track programme results, contributing to reporting and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in teacher development, workforce planning, or education system reform.
• Understanding of UNICEF’s education policies and the challenges of delivering education in fragile contexts.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining effective coordination with stakeholders in Jordan and globally.
