Emergency Medicine Clinical Director

About the role

The Emergency Medicine Clinical Director leads the planning, direction, and coordination of all medical services within the Emergency Medicine Unit, ensuring efficient resource use and high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct overall activities of the Emergency Medicine Unit to meet mission, goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and hospital administration to evolve the ED care delivery model.
• Ensure continuous, timely delivery of effective clinical services and maintain a patient‑care quality control program.
• Advise the Chief Medical Officer on Emergency Medicine matters.
• Oversee and evaluate physician performance within the unit.
• Develop, recommend and manage policies, protocols, programs and the operating budget.
• Incorporate quality improvement and patient‑satisfaction data into unit goals.
• Monitor on‑call schedules, respond to patient complaints, and improve patient flow.
• Manage personnel administration, including scheduling, training, performance evaluation and recruitment.

Required profile

• MD degree with board certification in Emergency Medicine (Jordanian Board required; UK/US board preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Emergency Medicine across various healthcare settings.
• Proven leadership experience in a clinical or departmental director role.
