Employee Relations Coordinator – National (Damascus)

About the role

The Employee Relations Coordinator provides expert guidance on employee‑relations matters, ensuring disciplinary and appeal processes are fair, consistent and compliant with organisational and legal standards. The role supports a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace across the Country Office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage investigations of employee grievances, disciplinary cases and appeals, ensuring fairness and timeliness.
• Monitor, analyse and report on employee‑relations trends, identifying systemic issues and recommending policy improvements.
• Provide expert guidance to managers on complex employee‑relations matters, supporting consistent application of legal and organisational standards.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert for senior management on high‑risk or sensitive cases, coordinating with internal or external legal advisors as needed.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace by embedding preventive measures and positive‑culture initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in employee relations, grievance handling and disciplinary processes.
• Strong knowledge of local labour legislation and international HR best practices.
• Ability to analyse data, identify patterns and produce clear reports for senior leadership.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with staff and management.
