Employee Relations Coordinator (National) – Damascus

About the role

The Employee Relations Coordinator will support the People and Culture Director in ensuring fair, transparent and legally compliant employee relations across the country office in Damascus. The role combines investigative work, case management and strategic reporting to promote a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace aligned with Save the Children’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investigations and resolution of employee grievances, disciplinary cases and appeals, ensuring timely and equitable outcomes.
• Monitor, analyse and report on employee‑relations trends, identifying systemic issues and recommending policy improvements.
• Provide expert guidance to managers on complex employee‑relations matters and support them in consistent case handling.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for senior management on high‑risk or sensitive issues, coordinating with internal or external legal advisors as needed.
• Maintain regular communication with the People and Culture Director, Country Director and Senior Management Team on risks, metrics and progress.

Required profile

• University degree in Human Resources, Labour Law or a related field.
• Proven experience in employee relations, investigations or HR case management, preferably in an international NGO.
• Strong knowledge of Syrian labour legislation and international HR best practices.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
