Engineering Manager – ERP Platform

About the role

Foodics is building its own ERP platform that underpins thousands of restaurants across the region. This Engineering Manager role is hands‑on: you will write production code while shaping the future team that will own the product. The position blends deep technical contribution with the responsibility of building and leading the engineering organization as the product matures.

Key responsibilities

• Write production code as a core contributor, not just a manager.
• Own end‑to‑end components of the system, including core modules, transactional foundation, regulatory compliance, and integration surfaces.
• Make critical architectural decisions and be accountable for their long‑term impact.
• Set engineering standards through code reviews, testing discipline, and appropriate use of AI tooling.
• Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to translate business requirements into functional features.
• Lead hiring efforts: define roles, conduct interviews, and make hiring decisions.
• Mentor existing engineers to enable independent ownership of system parts.
• Introduce processes only when needed and ensure a smooth handover of the product into the core business.

Required profile

• 7+ years of engineering experience with leadership roles (EM, tech lead, or founding engineer).
• Currently hands‑on, coding regularly.
• Proven experience building ERP or accounting systems and understanding double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Strong full‑stack expertise, comfortable from database schema to UI.
• AI‑native workflow, using agents and LLM tools with sound judgment.
• Track record of building products from scratch in small, fast‑moving teams.
• Motivated to both develop the platform now and grow the team later.
• Ability to work primarily within GMT+3 time zones.
