External Sales Advisor – Monthly Consulting

About the role

AKQ Logistics is looking for an experienced External Sales Advisor to provide monthly strategic consulting on its freight forwarding and logistics sales operations. The advisor will work remotely, delivering one 3‑4 hour session per month to senior management, reviewing performance, identifying gaps, and recommending actionable improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic recommendations on target customer segments, industries, markets and sales channels.
• Advise on customer acquisition, key accounts, partnership development, sales team structure, commission plans and pricing strategies.
• Review the previous month’s sales activities to determine what worked, what didn’t, and what should be tested next.
• Produce a clear monthly action plan with priority activities, sales targets, KPIs and prospecting guidance.
• Provide deliverables such as sales performance review, pipeline review, problems & opportunities analysis, strategic recommendations, KPI review and next‑month action plan.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in sales or commercial management.
• Strong practical experience in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics sales.
• Previous senior commercial role (Sales Director, Commercial Director, Head of Sales, Business Development Director or similar).
• Proven ability to build and manage B2B sales operations.
• Deep understanding of ocean freight, freight forwarding processes and sales KPIs.
• Experience selling to importers, exporters, manufacturers, traders and distributors.
• Familiarity with Middle East markets is highly preferred.
