Field Officer – Community Engagement & Project Coordination

About the role
The Field Officer will serve as AVSI’s primary point of contact in Makawer, linking the organization with local authorities, community groups and project partners. The role focuses on coordinating project activities, supporting training programmes and fostering sustainable micro‑enterprise development.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain regular communication with local authorities, associations and community stakeholders, acting as AVSI’s focal point.
- Lead stakeholder mapping and engagement strategy, building and sustaining strategic relationships.
- Coordinate with partner FPEC on activity implementation, beneficiary selection and adherence to best practices.
- Develop and monitor weekly/monthly activity plans, reporting progress to the Project Manager.
- Oversee field implementation of project activities, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Identify operational risks, propose corrective actions and support risk mitigation.
- Supervise youth teams collecting cultural heritage data and digitalisation initiatives.
- Organise trainee selection, logistics for trainings (hospitality, catering, digital skills, business, language) and monitor attendance and outcomes.
- Assist MSMEs, home‑based businesses and local associations, coordinating equipment delivery and capacity‑building support.
- Monitor MSME progress, assess sustainability and facilitate market linkages.
- Facilitate community meetings and outreach sessions, ensuring transparent communication.
Required profile
- Proven experience coordinating field‑based activities or community initiatives (NGO experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage, Social Work, Development, Humanitarian Studies or a related field.
- Excellent oral and written Arabic; English proficiency is an asset.
- Strong organisational, teamwork and leadership abilities.
- Experience working with governmental entities, local communities and youth groups.
- Experience supervising and monitoring field staff and activities.
- Effective reporting and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn NGO systems and work under pressure independently.
