Fleet Management Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking a Fleet Management Consultant to develop and implement a standardised, agency‑wide fleet strategy. Based at the HQ in Amman, you will work closely with field operations to optimise vehicle utilisation, monitor performance and support the rollout of new fleet tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fleet policies, procedures, standards and operational guidelines, including acquisition, replacement, disposal and standardisation initiatives.
• Lead fleet planning exercises and support annual budgeting and forecasting for fleet‑related expenditures.
• Establish and maintain performance dashboards, monitor utilisation, availability, downtime, fuel efficiency and produce regular performance reports.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, review maintenance costs and support vehicle replacement planning.
• Set fuel management standards, monitor consumption, analyse variances and recommend cost‑reduction measures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, registration, insurance and roadworthiness requirements and coordinate fleet audits.
• Manage fleet information systems, telematics, GPS tracking and reporting platforms, promoting digitalisation and innovative technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fleet management, policy development and KPI monitoring.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret performance data and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and cost‑control initiatives for vehicle fleets.
