Full/Associate/Assistant Professor of Graphic Design – Kuwait

About the role

The School of Architecture and Design seeks a full‑time faculty member in Graphic Design to join its multidisciplinary team in Kuwait. The appointment may be at the rank of Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor, depending on the candidate’s experience and scholarly record.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate studio and lecture courses in illustration and printmaking, covering both traditional and digital techniques.
• Develop and continuously update curriculum to reflect industry standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., NASAD).
• Supervise senior capstone projects and guide students in building professional portfolios.
• Maintain rigorous studio critique sessions and structured assessment methods.
• Conduct active research or professional creative practice, publish in peer‑reviewed venues, and present at conferences.
• Participate in exhibitions, juried shows, artist residencies, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Contribute to departmental committees, accreditation documentation, student recruitment, and community outreach.

Required profile

• PhD in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a closely related field, or an MFA in Graphic Design, Illustration, or Printmaking from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of university‑level teaching experience for senior ranks; demonstrated excellence in studio‑based instruction.
• Strong record of scholarly or professional creative activity in illustration, printmaking, or related visual arts.
