General Manager – Automotive Experience

About the role

Laith Al Obaidi Group, a leading automotive and car‑trading company in Iraq, is seeking a results‑driven General Manager to steer all business activities, ensure operational excellence, and deliver growth in line with corporate strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term business strategies aligned with corporate goals.
• Lead annual budgeting, financial planning, forecasting and monitor financial performance.
• Supervise day‑to‑day operations across sales, service, logistics, finance, HR and administration.
• Establish internal processes, SOPs and quality‑control systems; oversee inventory and procurement efficiency.
• Drive business development, B2B and B2C sales, and align marketing campaigns with sales targets.
• Recruit, train and lead high‑performing department heads; define KPIs and promote a culture of accountability.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, health & safety laws, labor codes and manage external audits.
• Build long‑term relationships with key customers and partners; represent the company at industry events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a GM or Director‑level role.
• Strong knowledge of operations, finance, sales and strategic planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with proven P&L management experience.
