Head of Middle East Durable Solutions Platform

About the role

The Head of the Middle East Durable Solutions Platform (ME DSP) provides overall leadership, strategic direction and management of a membership‑based NGO platform focused on solutions to displacement across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the ME DSP Strategy 2026‑2028, lead work‑plan reviews and ensure a neutral, member‑driven role.
• Re‑establish platform membership, review governance and operating model, and oversee annual planning, budgeting and reporting.
• Act as principal convener, designing and facilitating member meetings, technical working groups and consensus‑building processes.
• Define and oversee the research and knowledge agenda, commission studies, manage researchers and translate evidence into policy guidance.
• Represent the platform with governments, donors, UN agencies and other stakeholders at senior levels.
• Manage grants, budgets, work plans and donor reporting, and develop fundraising strategies for financial sustainability.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in political science, international relations, humanitarian law, migration, Middle East studies or related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in people management and leading a membership‑based consortium or network.
• Expert knowledge of durable solutions to displacement, especially in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and familiarity with international frameworks.
• Proven strategic leadership, grant management, budget oversight and resource mobilisation experience.
• Strong convening, facilitation and networking skills with ability to build trust and broker consensus among diverse organisations.
