About the role
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing daily shift operations of housekeeping, the recreation/health club, and laundry services where applicable. This role ensures guest rooms, public areas, and employee spaces are clean, well‑maintained, and meet the property’s standards while supporting guest and employee satisfaction and adhering to budgetary goals.
Key responsibilities
- Direct daily housekeeping shift activities, including room inspections, cleaning assignments, and public‑area upkeep.
- Coordinate with the Front Desk to communicate room status promptly and efficiently.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, verify adequate stock, and control budgeting for the department.
- Supervise and enforce inspection programs for guestrooms and public spaces.
- Train new room attendants, provide ongoing coaching, and ensure staff understand policies and performance expectations.
- Schedule staff according to business demand, track attendance, and maintain fair and consistent application of property policies.
- Monitor employee performance, recognize achievements, and participate in employee feedback and recognition programs.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field (no experience required).
