Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

Sheraton is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor in Amman, Jordan. The position is full time and non-management, and involves inspecting cleaned guest rooms and public areas, running room reports, coordinating housekeeping with other departments and supporting staff hiring and training.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and the pool after cleaning to ensure quality standards.
• Run sold room reports, verify room status, identify discrepant rooms, prioritise cleaning and update the status of departing guest rooms.
• Assist housekeeping management with daily activities and act as a liaison between housekeeping, engineering, front office and laundry.
• Document and resolve discrepant rooms with the front desk, prepare and distribute room assignment changes, and brief the next shift.
• Help with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and coaching staff.
• Follow company and safety policies, report maintenance problems and hazards, complete safety training, and ensure a professional appearance and confidentiality.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally.
• Use computers and point-of-sale systems, read small print, and perform other reasonable duties asked by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No license or certification required.

Required skills

• Ability to move objects up to 55 pounds alone and more with assistance, and to push and pull a housekeeping cart over uneven surfaces.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, kneel or walk for an entire shift, and to bend, twist and reach overhead and below the knees.
• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
