HSSE Supervisor – Aqaba Multipurpose Terminal

About the role

The HSSE Supervisor will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, security and environment practices at the Aqaba Multipurpose Terminal. You will ensure a safe, healthy and compliant working environment while supporting the company’s zero‑harm objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day HSSE program delivery across terminal operations.
• Monitor activities to ensure compliance with ALARP principles and safe work practices.
• Conduct inspections, audits and site monitoring to identify hazards and non‑compliance.
• Oversee Permit to Work (PTW) processes and verify control adequacy.
• Lead risk assessments and ensure implementation of appropriate controls.
• Promote reporting of unsafe acts, near misses and non‑conformities.
• Participate in incident investigations and apply Root Cause Analysis.
• Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure.
• Support waste management, spill response and environmental control programs.
• Monitor contractor and terminal‑user compliance with HSSE requirements.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, drills and response readiness.
• Ensure welfare facilities meet sanitation, hygiene and pest‑control standards.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HSSE reports.
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and on‑the‑job coaching.
• Supervise and coordinate HSE officers/executives, allocating tasks and priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety Management or a related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in a similar HSSE role.
• Knowledge of local Jordanian regulations, ASEZA requirements and international HSSE standards.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• NEBOSH IGC certification.
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 knowledge.
• IOSH and/or OSHA certification.
• Experience with risk assessment, root‑cause analysis and permit‑to‑work systems.
