Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor will join Aqaba Development Corporation in Aqaba, Jordan, to evaluate and strengthen the organization’s internal controls, risk management processes, and regulatory compliance. This full‑time, on‑site position plays a key part in ensuring effective governance and operational performance across the corporation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting internal audit reviews according to the approved audit plan.
• Review financial, operational, and compliance activities for effectiveness.
• Perform audit fieldwork, including interviews, document reviews, and process assessments.
• Identify, assess, and report key business and operational risks.
• Evaluate compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare clear audit reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans.
• Support investigations, special audit assignments, and risk‑assessment activities as required.
• Collaborate with various departments to improve controls and reduce risks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies, procedures, and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal audit or a similar role.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, or equivalent is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
