IP/MPLS, IXP & IGW Designer – Damascus Based

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IP/MPLS, Internet Exchange Point (IXP) and International Gateway (IGW) Designer to lead the design of a high‑performance core network for a major telecom project in Damascus. The role involves creating scalable, resilient architectures that meet multi‑vendor interoperability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design MPLS backbone solutions including BGP, IS‑IS/OSPF, Segment Routing, MPLS‑TE and L2/L3 VPN services.
• Produce high‑level and low‑level design documents (HLD/LLD) for IP/MPLS core, IXP and IGW domains.
• Define QoS, traffic classification, marking and queuing models.
• Architect EVPN, multicast, service‑chaining and DDoS protection on the MPLS backbone.
• Design IXP switching fabric, VLAN segmentation, peering policies and route‑server architecture.
• Develop international gateway designs, interconnection models with Tier‑1 carriers and traffic‑engineering strategies.
• Perform routing topology studies, capacity planning and resilience analysis.
• Validate multi‑vendor designs, support implementation teams and ensure compliance with telecom standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience in IP/MPLS core network design and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, IS‑IS, OSPF, Segment Routing, EVPN and QoS architectures.
