IT Security Officer – Amman, Jordan

About the role

The IT Security Officer will lead efforts to protect sensitive information and maintain robust security protocols for the organization’s infrastructure in Amman. You will identify vulnerabilities, implement advanced security measures, and respond swiftly to potential threats.

Key responsibilities

• Provide efficient technical support in line with established SLAs.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to uncover security threats.
• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity systems and protocols.
• Develop and execute incident response plans for security breaches and cyber‑attacks.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to incidents promptly.
• Perform security audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Analyze threat intelligence reports to stay informed about emerging cyber threats.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a comprehensive cybersecurity approach.
• Deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.
• Complete special projects and assignments as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on Help Desk support experience.
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience in cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to conduct security assessments and develop security policies.
• Familiarity with international and local standards such as PDPL, NCA, ISO 27001, ISO 22301.
• Preferably certified (CISM, CISA, CISSP, COBIT) or equivalent.
