IT System Administrator

About the role

The IT Systems Administrator will design, implement, maintain and secure the organisation's on‑premises and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance and compliance for business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server (2008 R2‑2022) environments, including AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO and file/print services.
• Manage HPE SimpliVity hyper‑converged infrastructure – health monitoring, storage/compute resources, backup and disaster recovery.
• Oversee Microsoft 365 tenant, Azure AD (Entra ID), Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint Online and Teams administration.
• Configure and maintain FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, NAT and security policies.
• Design, configure and manage Mikrotik switches, VLANs and overall network segmentation.
• Handle patch management and vulnerability remediation across servers and endpoints using RMM tools.
• Perform regular backups, test disaster‑recovery procedures and keep documentation up to date.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support, act as escalation point and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of enterprise systems administration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, HPE SimpliVity, FortiGate and Mikrotik.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, VPN).
• Relevant certifications such as MCSA, Fortinet FCP, Mikrotik MTCNA are a plus.
