Italian Chef de Cuisine

About the role

The Italian Chef de Cuisine will lead the restaurant kitchen in Amman, overseeing quality, consistency and overall food production. This position blends hands‑on cooking with team leadership, menu creation, purchasing, staffing and budget management to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enforce culinary standards, food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Supervise kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies.
• Plan, design and execute daily and seasonal menu items, including decorative food displays.
• Manage food quantities, plating requirements and daily production estimates.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory control and proper storage of all food products.
• Train, mentor and evaluate kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and productivity.
• Monitor and control operating costs while adhering to the budget.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and health standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of culinary or food‑service experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field with 2 years of experience.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate a kitchen team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong understanding of food preparation, handling, and temperature control.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to guest and employee satisfaction.
