Laundry Attendant

About the role

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for operating and monitoring the hotel’s washing, dry‑cleaning and drying equipment to ensure guests receive clean linens and garments. The role involves handling chemicals, maintaining equipment, and keeping accurate records while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate washing, dry‑cleaning and drying machinery, add chemicals and clean lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and decide on repair, rewash or discard.
• Inspect cleaned articles for quality and place them in linen carts.
• Set dryer times and temperatures according to fabric type and remove debris from filters after each load.
• Fold cleaned items by hand or using folding machines and maintain accurate laundry records.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, report incidents and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• No formal education or prior laundry experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of industrial washing, drying and dry‑cleaning equipment.
• Handling of laundry chemicals and routine equipment maintenance.
