Lead Java or Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Java or Full Stack Engineer to drive the design and delivery of high‑impact digital solutions at Nortal. You will work with globally distributed teams, translating business value into robust, scalable software while championing best practices in documentation, automation, and agile delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written, with global stakeholders.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to define high‑level business value and technical concepts.
• Create and maintain API documentation and technical user stories.
• Approve technical designs and ensure proper documentation automation.
• Run Scrum or Kanban processes as needed.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance issues in distributed systems.
• Evaluate tools and frameworks for the engineering team.
• Analyze end‑to‑end flows and interactions within distributed architectures.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Experience working in agile environments with globally distributed teams.

Required skills

• Proficient in Java and the Spring Framework.
• Familiarity with major Java frameworks and libraries.
• Cloud‑native development experience on AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (plus).
• SQL schema optimization and understanding of NoSQL trade‑offs.
• Version control with Git.
• Ability to set up Continuous Delivery and DevSecOps practices.
• Performance and security testing expertise.
