Lead Planning and Project Controls Engineer

About the role

As the Lead Planning and Project Controls Engineer, you will own the planning function for large‑scale, multidisciplinary projects. You will shape the planning strategy, integrate schedules across disciplines and proactively manage time‑related risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and control comprehensive project schedules for complex programmes.
• Perform integrated critical‑path, time‑impact and resource‑loaded schedule analyses.
• Align schedules with key milestones, contractual obligations and project‑manager expectations.
• Coordinate with cost control, risk management and contract administration to ensure consistent reporting.
• Prepare high‑level dashboards, executive summaries and strategic insights for client presentations.
• Resolve planning disputes and assess delays using structured analysis and documentation.
• Implement and enforce planning and project‑controls procedures across teams.
• Advise on schedule recovery, acceleration strategies and risk mitigation.
• Review and endorse deliverables produced by junior and mid‑level planners.
• Serve as the primary planning interface for clients and internal leadership.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of organisational planning standards and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of planning experience on large or complex projects.
• Proven track record of delivering successful planning outcomes.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Experience with forensic planning and delay‑analysis techniques.
• Competence in reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
