Logistics & Import Manager

About the role

STMC is seeking an experienced Logistics & Import Manager to own the inbound supply chain for its food and non‑food consumer products. Reporting to the General Manager, you will coordinate ocean freight, customs clearance and product registration with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, book and manage sea shipments from international suppliers to the Port of Aqaba, selecting cost‑effective routes.
• Negotiate freight rates and service terms with shipping lines, freight forwarders and consolidators.
• Serve as the primary contact for suppliers, handling order placement, production tracking and issue resolution.
• Prepare, review and control import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin) and apply correct Incoterms.
• Coordinate customs clearance with agents, ensuring accurate duty/tax calculation and timely release.
• Manage JFDA product registration for new items and renewals, meeting labeling and certification requirements.
• Monitor shipments end‑to‑end, manage delays, demurrage and discrepancies, and communicate ETAs to stakeholders.
• Work with warehouse and inventory teams to align inbound receiving with demand.
• Track landed costs, freight, duties and clearing expenses, identifying savings opportunities.
• Maintain accurate import records and ensure full compliance with Jordanian customs and regulatory rules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in import and logistics, preferably with a food and non‑food (FMCG) importer or distributor.
• Strong knowledge of ocean freight operations, Incoterms and Jordanian customs clearing practices.
• Familiarity with JFDA registration procedures and food import regulations.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with international suppliers.
