Mid-Level Backend Developer (Python)

About the role

Fekra AI is seeking a Mid‑Level Backend Developer with strong Python expertise to build scalable backend systems, advanced automation pipelines, and OCR‑driven data workflows. You will join a fast‑moving team focused on AI‑powered automation and intelligent document processing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust REST APIs using FastAPI, Django or Flask.
• Implement browser automation, web‑scraping and portal integration pipelines with Playwright or Selenium.
• Process structured and unstructured data (PDF, JSON, CSV) and integrate OCR solutions such as Tesseract, AWS Textract or Google Vision API.
• Own service‑to‑service communication, background workers and asynchronous flows using message queues like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery or Redis.
• Optimize database schemas, indexing and queries in PostgreSQL for high performance.
• Ensure API security, containerisation with Docker, and reliable logging/monitoring in Linux environments.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Python for backend development, automation and API integration.
• Solid understanding of micro‑service architecture, eventual consistency, retries, dead‑letter queues and idempotency.
• Ability to write clean, reusable, testable code following Git best practices.
• Strong debugging skills for distributed workflows and OCR edge cases.
