Migration Governance Consultant

About the role

The Sustainable Research and Development Center is looking for a Lead Migration Governance Expert to steer an international consultancy assignment. The assignment will analyse two decades of an intergovernmental migration dialogue, focusing on its evolution, achievements, lessons learned and strategic relevance for Africa‑Europe cooperation.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate analytical work on migration governance topics.
• Conduct and synthesize desk research covering smuggling, trafficking, return, reintegration, legal migration and mobility.
• Engage senior‑level stakeholders across Africa and Europe to gather insights and validate findings.
• Lead the drafting, review and finalisation of a flagship strategic publication.
• Provide policy recommendations and strategic guidance for future dialogue phases.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in migration governance, policy analysis or related fields.
• Extensive experience with international, multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Strong research, synthesis and report‑writing capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and lead a multidisciplinary team.
