Ocean Import Manager

About the role

Expeditors is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Manager to lead and grow its Ocean Import product in the Jordanian market. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, sales growth, and team development while ensuring compliance and strong vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a flexible department organization chart and business plan.
• Monitor and improve departmental productivity and financial results, including BNP, AJAX, CLH, and internal reports.
• Oversee local charge verification and agreement quoting to minimize branch losses.
• Lead regular huddles, monthly meetings, and weekly sales briefings to share market intelligence and trends.
• Support new business transitions, implement system enhancements, and achieve revenue targets aligned with district budgets.
• Collaborate with the Trade Compliance Manager to ensure compliance training and initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with shipping lines, trucking companies, and other vendors.
• Conduct staff appraisals, one‑on‑one meetings, and assist with goal setting under the 3+1 Initiative.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Expeditors or a similar logistics firm within the Jordanian market.
• At least 3 years of team management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
• Leadership, emotional intelligence, and ability to drive change.
• Analytical thinking, strategic planning, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• University degree or equivalent business qualification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BNP, AJAX, and CLH financial reporting tools.
• Fluent English language skills.
