OSP and Fiber Trainer (Damascus)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced OSP and Fiber Trainer to deliver bilingual (English/Arabic) classroom and on‑site training for contractors, design and inspection teams in Damascus. The role focuses on transferring best‑practice knowledge of outside‑plant fiber engineering, installation, and testing to ensure compliance with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct classroom and field training sessions covering excavation, trenching, ducting, backfilling, HDD, micro‑trenching, and trenchless methods.
• Demonstrate fiber cable installation, blowing/jetting, splicing and jointing techniques with hands‑on examples.
• Teach optical network testing using OTDR, optical power meters, light sources and guide interpretation of results against acceptance criteria.
• Instruct on OSP material specifications, passive component evaluation, and quality‑control procedures.
• Create, update and maintain training modules, slides and handouts aligned with the latest standards.
• Develop assessment tools to verify competence and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Telecommunications.
• 12+ years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in training and development within the OSP fiber domain.
• Fluent spoken English and Arabic.
• Proven ability to work independently, travel nationwide for training, and handle confidential information.
• Relevant certifications (CFOT/CFOS, OSH, train‑the‑trainer) are a plus.

Required skills

• OSP fiber engineering and civil works (excavation, trenching, HDD, micro‑trenching).
• Fiber cable blowing/jetting and splicing/jointing.
• Optical testing tools: OTDR, optical power meter, light source.
• Standards knowledge: ISO/IEC 11801, IEC 60794, ITU‑T G‑series, national operator specs.
• OSH compliance frameworks (ISO 45001, confined‑space, working‑at‑height).
