Payments Officer

About the role

Equiti is looking for a detail‑oriented Payments Officer to join its Retail Operations team in Amman. You will be responsible for handling all payment‑related transactions and supporting clients with their deposit, withdrawal and internal transfer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Process deposit transactions through banks, e‑banking, e‑wallets, cards and other PSPs.
• Process withdrawal transactions via the same channels.
• Handle adjustments, indemnifications and credit transactions.
• Respond to client payment queries by phone and email (Zendesk).
• Collaborate with the Sales team to recommend optimal payment solutions.
• Guide clients on using the portal for deposits, withdrawals and internal transfers.
• Conduct AML, risk and fraud checks and perform identification verification.
• Liaise with banks and PSPs to investigate missing or anomalous payments.
• Maintain confidentiality in line with data protection regulations.
• Report and follow up on technical errors.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in financial services or payments operations.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• High degree of self‑motivation, accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
