Payroll Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Payroll Accountant to join our HR Shared Services team in Jordan. You will manage payroll tax, social security and social insurance calculations across Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman and the UAE, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute payroll tax, social security and social insurance calculations accurately and on time.
• Monitor employee earnings, deductions and payroll transactions for statutory compliance.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, mid‑year and annual payroll tax and social insurance reconciliations with local advisors and Finance teams.
• Liaise with tax advisors and Finance to maintain payroll records in tax portals, HR systems and company archives.
• Support HR projects and process‑improvement initiatives within the Shared Services function.
• Prepare and maintain monthly and annual payroll, tax, social security, social insurance and HR data reports.
• Research legislative changes across the covered countries to keep payroll calculations and system configurations compliant.
• Collect, validate and consolidate HR data for monthly accruals and month‑end closing reports.
• Ensure confidentiality, accuracy and integrity of payroll and employee data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum three years of experience in payroll accounting or related finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian payroll tax and social insurance legislation (essential).
• Familiarity with labor laws, social security and tax legislation in Jordan and GCC markets (advantage).
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
