Pharmacy Director

About the role

The Pharmacy Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for the establishment and ongoing management of pharmacy services. This senior role ensures safe, effective, and cost‑efficient medication use while meeting all regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and full establishment of pharmacy services, including organizational design, staffing, and service framework.
• Develop and implement policies, SOPs, and medication‑management systems compliant with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Oversee pharmacy layout, workflow optimization, and integration of a pharmacy ERP system covering procurement, inventory, cold‑chain management, and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Ensure readiness for licensing, inspections, and accreditation throughout pre‑operational and post‑opening phases.
• Recruit, train, and develop pharmacy staff, conducting operational readiness activities and simulation exercises.
• Direct day‑to‑day pharmacy operations, medication safety, pharmacovigilance, and continuous quality‑improvement programs.
• Manage integrated supply‑chain activities to guarantee medication availability, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize clinical pharmacy services and patient‑centered care.
• Supervise financial performance, budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in pharmacy operations, preferably in a hospital or large health‑care setting.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory standards, Good Pharmacy Practice, and WHO guidelines.
• Strong track record of building and leading high‑performing pharmacy teams.
• Excellent strategic planning, change‑management, and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
