Planning Survey Lead

About the role

The Planning Survey Lead will head field surveys and site walkouts for underground and aerial fiber‑optic routes in Damascus, ensuring accurate data collection and seamless integration into network designs. This senior position requires close coordination with engineering, construction, and client teams to deliver high‑quality telecom infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field surveys and site assessments for fiber‑optic routes.
• Review and verify underground pathway maps, duct routes, and fiber allocation requirements.
• Develop and finalize OSP engineering designs and planning layouts using GIS tools.
• Translate survey findings into constructible technical drawings and route designs.
• Identify terrain, utility, and Right‑of‑Way constraints to propose cost‑effective routing solutions.
• Manage permitting activities and prepare required documentation for local authorities.
• Prepare and review Transmission Site Survey Reports, Bills of Quantities, route sketches, and as‑built documentation.
• Maintain GIS records, survey databases, and technical documentation throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with construction teams, project managers, vendors, and clients to align scope and schedules.
• Monitor survey progress, produce technical reports, and ensure compliance with telecom standards and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12‑16 years of experience in telecom infrastructure, OSP planning, survey management, or fiber network deployment.
• Strong understanding of OSP fiber networks, route planning, GIS mapping, and Right‑of‑Way requirements.
