Plant Engineer

About the role
The Plant Engineer will oversee the operational efficiency, maintenance and reliability of all plant equipment and facilities at CROWN Middle East Can Manufacturing Ltd. The role ensures smooth production, drives continuous improvement and maintains a safe, compliant working environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and manage preventative maintenance programmes for all machinery and facilities to minimise downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production lines and oversee repairs.
- Lead continuous‑improvement projects aimed at optimising processes, reducing waste and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Supervise maintenance technicians and technical staff, handling scheduling, training and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company regulations through regular inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with production, quality and other departments to resolve operational challenges and support production targets.
- Manage spare‑parts inventory, procure equipment and services, and coordinate with external vendors and contractors.
- Develop and control the capital‑expenditure budget for equipment upgrades and facility improvements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, maintenance logs and engineering drawings.
- Support new equipment installation, commissioning and optimisation projects.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in plant engineering or maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, preferably high‑volume can production.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proven experience with CMMS and lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing.
