Portfolio Director – Jordan & Yemen

About the role

The Portfolio Director for Jordan and Yemen is the senior leader responsible for overall portfolio management, ensuring alignment with Mercy Corps’ regional and global strategies, and delivering high‑quality, impactful programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, develop and adapt country strategies, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
• Lead program design, implementation, quality, and performance, overseeing Program Managers and ensuring compliance with donor and Mercy Corps standards.
• Oversee financial, operational, risk, and compliance management across both country portfolios.
• Maintain high‑level relationships with donors, government counterparts, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with regional and global teams to mobilize support and ensure evidence‑based decision‑making.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in humanitarian or development program management.
• Strong strategic vision, leadership, and ability to manage multi‑country portfolios.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
