Project Manager – Nature‑Based Solutions in Jordan Valley

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation of the "Protecting Dams and Surrounding Areas in Jordan Valley through Nature‑Based Solutions and Labour‑Intensive Measures" project. The role combines technical supervision of soil‑ and water‑conservation structures with coordination of Cash‑for‑Work activities, requiring extensive field presence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership in line with DRC and donor guidelines.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, forecasting and execution of all project components.
• Act as the main liaison with the donor (GIZ CfW), Jordan Valley Authority, Ministry of Agriculture and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with CfW SOPs, technical standards, safety protocols and donor requirements.
• Maintain daily oversight of implementation progress, workforce productivity, quality assurance and contractor performance.
• Conduct regular field visits, ensuring a minimum of three working days per week on‑site.

Required profile

• Experience managing construction or infrastructure projects in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including donors, government agencies and contractors.
• Willingness to spend the majority of working time in the field and reside in DRC accommodation at Ghour Safi.

Required skills

• Construction of gabion check dams and gabion retaining walls.
• Installation of riprap and culvert rehabilitation.
• Implementation of afforestation measures.
