Proposal Writing & Business Development Manager

About the role

Amideast Jordan is seeking a Proposal Writing & Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of its donor and client portfolio. The role will identify funding opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and drive new business aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities. Working closely with the Country Director, technical teams and external partners, the manager will enhance Amideast’s market positioning in Jordan and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development plans in coordination with the Country Director.
• Conduct market research, monitor trends and maintain an updated pipeline of opportunities.
• Identify and engage potential donors, government entities, UN agencies, NGOs and private sector partners.
• Lead the preparation of proposals, concept notes and expressions of interest from inception to submission.
• Coordinate technical, operational and financial inputs with program, finance and operations teams to produce responsive, feasible solutions.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, secure necessary approvals and meet submission deadlines.
• Maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors and clients to support sustainable growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience in proposal writing, business development or fundraising within the nonprofit or education sector.
• Strong understanding of donor priorities and client needs in the MENA region.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with cross‑functional and external teams.
• Ability to analyze market trends and translate them into actionable opportunities.
• Experience managing the full proposal cycle, including technical and cost components.
