About the role
The Psychosocial Worker provides psychosocial evaluation and confidential counseling to hospital patients, ensuring their welfare and psychosocial needs are met throughout admission, treatment, and discharge.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial assessments, reassessments and follow‑up for patients in need of support.
- Identify and refer suspected cases of abuse or neglect.
- Screen, assess and provide care for patients at risk of suicide.
- Coordinate case management, communicate with multidisciplinary team members, and facilitate team meetings.
- Maintain relationships with consultants and departments, ensuring information flow and implementation of care plans.
- Develop discharge plans with the team and link patients to community resources.
- Participate as a committee member in the kidney transplantation committee.
- Provide psychosocial services to hospital employees.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology or psychology.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in a hospital psychosocial role, including transplantation services.
- Fluency in English and Arabic, both oral and written.
