Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Delights Shop is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support its procurement activities in Amman. The role ensures that raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies are available on time while meeting quality, cost, and supplier performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day purchasing activities and follow up on purchase requirements.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain competitive quotations, and negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and other commercial terms.
• Purchase food raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and operational supplies.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Warehousing, Finance, and other departments to meet purchasing needs.
• Monitor purchase orders and deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials.
• Track supplier performance in quality, pricing, reliability, and delivery.
• Support cost‑control initiatives and identify purchasing savings opportunities.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, quotations, supplier information, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure purchased food materials meet quality and food‑safety requirements.
• Assist inventory planning by aligning purchasing needs with stock availability and consumption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• Previous purchasing/procurement experience in Food & Beverage, food manufacturing, confectionery, bakery, hospitality, or a related food industry (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of food ingredients, raw materials, packaging, suppliers, and purchasing processes.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier‑management abilities.
• Good analytical and organizational skills.
• Effective communication in Arabic and English.
• Ability to work with multiple departments and manage purchasing priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with purchasing/ERP systems, preferably Odoo.
