QA Automation Engineer (Playwright / JavaScript)

About the role

Aspire is hiring a QA Automation Engineer who combines hands-on automation and manual testing experience to build and maintain reliable, high-quality software. The role covers web application testing, automation frameworks, CI/CD and API testing, and works closely with developers, product owners and QA engineers. The position is fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and execute automated test scripts for web applications
• Perform manual functional, regression and exploratory testing where automation is not suitable
• Design test cases and scenarios from requirements and user stories
• Identify, document and track defects through resolution
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve test coverage
• Maintain scalable, reliable automation frameworks
• Take part in sprint planning, reviews and Agile discussions, and share testing progress, risks and quality issues with stakeholders

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with manual testing and test case design
• Experience developing automation scripts for web applications
• Strong understanding of STLC and defect management
• Ability to turn requirements into clear test scenarios
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams, Git and code reviews
• Good written and spoken English

Required skills

• Strong JavaScript; TypeScript is a plus
• Proficiency in Playwright is preferred
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins
• Basic API testing with Postman or Playwright API testing
• Knowledge of performance or accessibility testing is a plus
• ISTQB or similar certification and awareness of ISO/SOC-aligned security practices are a plus
