Quality Engineer

About the role

Wiley Science Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure the reliability of its scientific software portfolio, including the legacy KnowItAll Windows application and emerging cloud‑based services. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver high‑confidence releases across desktop, web and API platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, system, regression, integration and user‑acceptance testing.
• Perform API, interface, data‑transfer and web‑services testing using tools such as Swagger and Postman.
• Own and expand test coverage for desktop applications, web interfaces and backend services.
• Log defects, conduct root‑cause analysis and produce detailed defect reports.
• Identify quality gaps, flaky tests and high‑risk areas and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with developers to maintain automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, TestNG, WinAppDriver, etc.).
• Utilize Jira for sprint‑based testing artifacts and TestRail for structured execution.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Maven, GitHub and AWS cloud environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in software quality assurance, including functional, integration and regression testing.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks and a focus on reliability and maintainability.
• Experience testing web applications and REST APIs, including edge‑case validation and data setup/teardown.
• Ability to produce clear defect reports and recommend pragmatic improvements.
